So much of our confusion, our pain, our indecision, and our wrong decisions come because we do not know God. We may know about HIm - we may know what others know or say about Him - but do we know what God says about Himself.? Do we know for ourselves who He really is and therefore, how He conducts Himself in the affairs of Mankind? This is the beginning of the study written by Kay Arthur. Come and engage with Christian sisters and grow closer to God.

.Word Walkers On 2200-Mile Jaunt On Route 66
Word Walkers are on their way, from Chicago to Los Angeles on fabled Route 66. On
November 2, the walkers laced up their most comfortable shoes, set their pedometers,
and departed from Grant Park, near Lake Michigan. In reality, they do their walking at the
Lakeview Recreational Center in Sun City every Wednesday morning from 9:00 until
10:00. They count miles walked everywhere during the week, as well, and then report
their totals to Don and Ginny Carlson. The Word Walkers’ scribe then prepares a weekly
report on the progress, with tidbits of news from along the way.
It’s a wonderful way to help stay in shape, meet new friends, and get to know old friends
better. And all the while, you’ll be reminded of places and things that jog the memory and bring feelings of nostalgia about the days of “yesteryear.”
WE’RE ONLY A STONES THROW AWAY! Okay, so it’s a rather long throw! But hey, 89 miles from our destination in LA is not bad. Why, it’s almost within shouting distance. I know what you’re thinking. The 175 miles we’ve travelled since our last reporting stop near Danby, California tested our stamina. It left our feet swollen, our leg muscles sore, and a strong desire for more level terrain. But we’ve come a long way since departing from downtown Chicago 14 weeks ago. And just stop to think how many people have read the words on our shirts—strong testimony to what we’re really about. “Walking in the light of the Word of the Lord” pretty much says it all as far as we’re concerned. Our marching orders are clearly set forth in Deuteronomy 5:33: “Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may prosper and prolong your days in the land…”
Now we’re nearing the outskirts of San Bernardino, nestled in a valley and surrounded by mountains of the same name. When we walk through town, we can make another stop for fast food, this one located on the original site of the world’s first McDonalds. So save room for a Big Mac, or maybe two. And get charged up to make our final hike—it’s less than a hundred miles away.
